What is coaching?

Coaching is a developmental method aimed at promoting change and achieving set goals. It is based on dialogue, the coach supports the coachee through questions to find optimal pathways to change for themselves. This strengthens the motivation to change and achieve goals. Coaching improves the perception of reality and strengthens accountability.

What can I expect from coaching?

  • Focus on self-motivation, its “mobilization” (resources)
  • “Linking” coaching topics to positive emotional experiences (experience of success)
  • Coaching provides a space to gain a deeper insight into oneself (sometimes others)
  • Coaching supports the coachee’s self-management
  • Focuses awareness of one’s own effective steps leading to goals/objectives
  • Diversity – coaching uses inspiration and methods from different schools of psychology

What can’t be expected from coaching?

  • “Advice” on how to proceed, what to do, etc.
  • Focusing on the past, processing past themes and wounds
  • Coming up with a topic by the coach
  • Learning guidance

How to prepare for coaching?

It is important to have a topic or area you want to address, and possibly goals you want to focus on.
